After earning her bachelor of arts degree in journalism, Karon began a full-time journalism career as copy editor for the Marietta Daily Journal. After a short tenure, she moved on to serve as senior editor for I Do for Brides magazines, a regional bridal publication covering four markets. She also worked as senior editor for The Ultimate Bachelor Party, a wedding planning magazine geared toward the groom, and Mazel Tov!, a bar/bat mitzvah planning magazine.

Shortly after becoming engaged in November 2001, Karon left full-time work to embark on a freelance career. In addition to writing for numerous local, regional and national magazines and newspapers, she also has worked in several editorial positions. These include managing editor for Atlanta Construction News, which covered the Atlanta commercial construction industry; managing editor for Benefits & Compensation Solutions, a trade magazine covering the human resources industry; and copy editor for Atlanta Sports & Fitness. She continues to serve as copy editor for several magazines, including JEZEBEL, Wedding Dresses, Tuxedo Road and Engagement 101.

In recent years, Karon also began building an online presence, starting with her travel blog at TravelingInsight.wordpress.com. She also has written for such sites as AffordableTours.com, SoutheastUSA.BellaOnline.com, SouthcentralUSA.BellaOnline.com and FamilyVacationCritic.com, and she hopes to expand her online client base.
